WELCOME FROM MARK STEFFKA, THE 2023 EMC+SIPI GENERAL CHAIR

Mark Steffka

GREETINGS!

I am pleased to let you know that the 2023 symposium committee has been hard at work for many months now to create what we know will be a high-quality, informative, and even enjoyable event sponsored by the IEEE EMC Society. Those of us who were in Spokane in 2022 saw the excitement and synergy develop as a result of finally being back “in person” again.  We are looking forward to continuing that momentum this year, and it all will be starting on Monday, July 31 until Friday, August 4, 2023 in Grand Rapids, Michigan, USA!

We are confident that you (like many of us have learned while planning the 2023 symposium), will discover that Grand Rapids is an ideal location for our symposium, given its geographic proximity to major academic institutions, a variety of industrial organizations, including automotive, aerospace, and medical engineering and/or R & D facilities for both established companies and emerging technologies.  In addition to being a easy to access destination (from almost anywhere in the world) the attendees to technical program sessions will be exposed to wide ranging aspects of EMC and SIPI.

If all that wasn’t enough, it turns out that Grand Rapids is a “family friendly” city that has so much to offer to everyone.  From parks to museums, botanical gardens and scenic rivers, we invite you to join us for the technical program and bring your family and friends for the fun!

This year’s Symposium will again feature technical sessions, interactive workshops/tutorials, standards sessions, experiments and demonstrations, and a dynamic technical exhibition area, as well as social events to enjoy (that can also provide valuable opportunities to network).  During the registration process, attendees will have an opportunity to sign up for two uniquely different technical tours.  One will include a visit to Intertek Labs, a 3rd party accredited EMC test lab.  And the other will invite folks into Grand Valley State University’s Innovation & Design Center where they will learn about their engineering program, see the senior design projects on display and tour the EMC Center which is operated by E3 Compliance – an EMC & SIPI engineering consulting group.

We are pleased to highlight that this year’s “short course” will be on the fundamentals of SIPI and is planned to take place early in the week to allow the course attendees to build upon their newly acquired knowledge over the following days.

Our open-to-attend Standards Committee meetings will keep you up to date and inform you of pending changes to standards that may affect your products and/or services.  Do you have a question on a standard?  Ask the key contributors to the Standards directly at the symposium – something you cannot easily do on line!

Be sure to check this website often for updates, or better yet, sign up for our newsletters now to get regular updates sent to your inbox.

We look forward to seeing you in Grand Rapids!  If you have any questions, please contact us at symposiuminfo@emcss.org.

WELCOME FROM GENE SALTZBERG, THE 2023 TECHNICAL PROGRAM COMMITTEE CHAIR

Mark Steffka

On behalf of the Technical Program Committee, I am excited to invite you to attend the 2023 IEEE International Symposium on Electromagnetic Compatibility, Signal and Power Integrity (EMC+SIPI). This in-person symposium will be held in Grand Rapids Michigan, half way between Detroit Metro and Chicago Metro, which provide a perfect meeting location and Conference Center for us to gather.

The Symposium will have Special Sessions that include Advance Modeling, EMC Assessment and Stochastic Simulation. We will also have Ask the Expert Panels on Power Electronic, Automotive, Electrification, Medical Devices and SI Challenges of SERDES.

We have a full program that also feature presentation on the advanced Technical Papers, many Workshops & Tutorials and more booths for Experiments & Demonstrations. This is a place where you can share your ideas, learn new ideas and ask questions to the experts.

The Technical Program Committee is looking forward to seeing you in Grand Rapids. If you have any questions, please contact us at: symposiuminfo@emcss.org.

Sincerely,

Gene Saltzberg
Technical Program Committee Chair
