IEEE & EMC-S MEMBERS
Please check that your membership is in good standing and paid in full for 2023.  Have your member number and current member grade ready when registering.

SISTER SOCIETIES 
Members of IEEE EMC-S Sister Societies are eligible for the discounted IEEE EMC-S member rate at the annual symposium.  Contact the Registration Service to obtain this discount.

FULL-TIME STUDENTS
You must be enrolled in a full time course of study at a college or university to register in any of the student categories.

 

EXHIBIT HALL ONLY
This registration category is designed for adult customers and clients of our exhibitors. 

  • If you are staffing an exhibit booth, please register through the EXHIBITORS registration to receive an EXHIBITOR ribbon and early access to the Exhibit Hall.
  • For family wishing to accompany or visit you in the Exhibit Hall, they will receive a Basic Badge if you list their name(s) in the appropriate lines in your own registration. No bar code, no tracking, no charge.
  • Children and youth under the age of 18 yrs are not allowed in the Exhibit Hall unattended. They must be registered in the Jr. Companion Club or within the guardian’s registration with a Basic Badge (companion).

 

COMPANIONS
Our Companions are family and friends of all ages who are accompanying a registered, technical attendee.  We offer two types of badges:

  • Companion Club: special package that includes a gift, Welcome Reception ticket, Companion Suite with breakfasts, and access to the Exhibit Hall. A fee applies.
  • Basic Badge: for Exhibit Hall entrance and/or Youth Technical Program registration. No bar code, no tracking, and no charge.

You may sign up your companion within your own registration or they may be registered separately for the Companion Club.

 

EXHIBITORS 
All exhibitor staff, reps, and booth workers must register using the link and discount code sent to the Exhibitor/ Sponsor contact to receive an EXHIBITOR ribbon and early access to the Exhibit Hall.  See the EXHIBITORS page for details.

REGISTRATION TYPES


  • TECHNICAL ATTENDEES

    We offer 5-Day or 1-Day Registrations
    You have access to all EMC and SIPI paper sessions, Workshops & Tutorials, Experiments & Demonstrations, and the Exhibit Hall.   There are also special events available, as well as Technical Committee Meetings, Standards Meetings, and networking opportunities.

    The 5-Day registration includes 5 days of technical sessions, 3 day pass to the exhibit hall, Symposium Record, and social events.

    The 1-Day registration includes 1 day of technical sessions, same day pass to the exhibit hall (if open), and the Symposium Record.

    List Price for the full, 5-Day registration is $1290 (Non-Member, Regular Rate).  Discounted rates are available for all.  See below for details.

    Advance Registration.  You must be paid in full by midnight PDT, June 26, to receive the Advanced rates.

    EMC-S Members.  Special rate for full, 5-Day Technical Registrations only.  Your membership must be in good standing and paid in full for 2023.  If you are not a member and would like to become a member, please  CLICK HERE or call 1-800-678-IEEE.  Please note that you must be a member at the time of registration to receive the member rate.

    IEEE Life Member.  There is a further rate reduction for IEEE Life members.  IEEE Life Membership is automatically bestowed upon an active IEEE member based on age and years of membership. 

    EMC-S Honored Member.  You must be an EMC Society Honored Award recipient who was presented with this award in a prior year.  No discount code is necessary to register; this is a special rate category.

    EMC-S Retired or Unemployed.  Special ADVANCE rate discount for retired / unemployed EMC Society members only; discount reverts back to the EMC-S rate after June 26. Have your last place of employment and the date of retirement or unemployment ready when registering.

    Company Group Rate.  Sign up to request a company-wide discount code now!   We will give each employee a special discounted rate which is roughly 35% off the non-member rate, and over 10% off the EMC-S Member rate!  Send an email to: EMC@iplanitmeetings.com to receive your Company Discount Code. 

    Cost:     Advance rate is $715/person (before June 26)

    • Each company must have 10 or more employees with a PAID 5-day attendee registration (not including Exhibitor or Booth Staff) registered by June 26 (advance rate) or July 17 (special rate).
    • Employees may register and pay individually using the specially provided discount code.  Company name must be the same for all registrations.
    • There is no need for all to be from the same central office or company branch. 
    • Void if not registered and paid by July 17.  After July 17, regular rates will apply.  (Those who registered before June 26 will be charged the advance rate.)

    Full-Time Students.  Special rates for both IEEE members and non-members.  You must be enrolled in a full time course of study at a college or university to register in the student categories.  Have your college ID number and advisor’s name & email ready when registering. 

    Note:  Student 5-Day registration packages will again include the attendee bag, Symposium Record, and tickets to the Welcome Reception & Awards Luncheon.  The Gala ticket however is NOT included, but may be purchased separately or awarded through volunteering at the symposium.

  • EXHIBIT HALL ONLY, 3-DAY PASS

    This is an EMC+SIPI exhibition with many technical activities.  For adult (age 18+) customers and clients of our exhibitors.  No charge. 

    • Exhibitors and their reps must pre-register through EXHIBITORS registration using their assigned exhibitor’s code. 
    • Companions/guests may be obtain a pass (Basic Badge) through their technical attendee’s registration. Anyone under age 18 may be registered as a companion, and must be accompanied by a registered adult.

  • EXHIBITOR

    All adult (age 18+) exhibitor staff, reps, and booth workers must register using the link and discount code sent to the Exhibitor/ Sponsor contact to receive an EXHIBITOR ribbon and early access to the Exhibit Hall.   Anyone under age 18 must be accompanied by a registered adult.  There are two badge types:

    • Technical Exhibitor: receives a full, 5-Day Technical Registration plus EXHIBITOR ribbon.
    • Booth Staff: receive 3-Day pass to the Exhibit Hall, with early access plus EXHIBITOR ribbon.

  • COMPANIONS / GUESTS

    For family and friends of all ages who accompany a registered, technical attendee or exhibitor.  We offer two types of badges:

    • Companion Club: This package will again include a gift, access to the Companion Suite (4 mornings with breakfast), Exhibit Hall pass, and Welcome Reception ticket.  Individual registrations are required. 
    • Cost: Adults - $100 per person/ $130 per person after the June 26th early deadline
                Junior - $75 per person/ $85 per person after the June 26th early deadline
                Children Under 8 - No Charge

    • Basic Badge: For Exhibit Hall entrance and/or Youth Technical Program registration.  Sign up your companion within your own 5-Day or 1-Day technical registration.  No bar code, no tracking, no charge.  Basic Badges are limited to 1 adult companion and their children.
    • Cost: No Charge


ADDITIONAL OPTIONS


  • CLAYTON R. PAUL GLOBAL UNIVERSITY

    TU, WE, TH, August 1-3

    Global University course content is intended for engineers who have been working in EMC and/or SIPI for several years and wish to be able to deepen their understanding.  It is suggested that those who would like to attend will have already participated in the “Fundamentals Tutorial” held on Monday during the annual IEEE EMC Society Symposium week.  A 5-Day symposium registration is required in addition to the Global University fee.

    Cost: $350 per person/ $400 per person after the June 26th early deadline

    Technical Tour – Intertek Grand Rapids Lab Tour

    On-site Requirements: safety glasses (provided) and closed toe shoes. No photography is allowed, all tour guests must sign in on arrival.

    Time: 9:00am – 12:00pm
    Cost: $35 pp/ $40 pp after the June 26th early deadline

     

    Technical Tour – EMC Center and Innovation & Design Center, Grand Valley State University

    Date: Thursday, August 3, 2023
    Time: 5:30pm – 8:00pm
    Cost: $20 pp/ $25 pp after the June 26th early deadline

  • PROFESSIONAL DEVELOPMENT HOURS

    (Must have  P.E. license or equiv.)

    This service, provided by the IEEE EMC Society, is designed to satisfy continuing education requirements of licensed Professional Engineers.  A fee is charged.  This is NOT a Certificate of Participation (CoP).  CoP’s will be available onsite to anyone with a badge, at the registration desk, at no charge. 

     

  • SYMPOSIUM RECORD

    The Symposium Record contains all papers and Workshop/Tutorial (W/T) slide presentations.  It will be downloadable with all 1-Day and 5-Day registrations. 

  • VISA INVITATION LETTER

    If you are from overseas and require a special letter for your visa application process or for employee travel, the IEEE EMC Society is happy to provide an Invitation Letter upon receipt of your completed symposium registration and full payment (guests must be registered with a paid full conference registrant).  Fulfillment may be delayed while validity of payment is confirmed. 

     

    Letters are emailed or faxed at no charge.  A fee will apply to send the original letter via FedEx International.  Please allow a minimum of 4 to 6 weeks for your government to process your visa.

  • YOUNG PROFESSIONALS ACTIVITIES

    The EMC Society Young Professionals (YP) will once again be hosting a few fun and exciting events. ALL EMC Society members and attendees of the symposium are welcome (not only the YPs!).  For more details, click HERE.  

    • Monday Night Social: "Speed Networking" with EMC Experts 6-10 pm EDT
    • Cost: $30 per person/ $40 per person after the June 26th early deadline

    • Tuesday Night Social: "After the Welcome Reception" 8-11 pm EDT
    • Cost: $20 per person (won’t change whether advanced, regular, or on-site), includes 2 drinks and 1 appetizer.

  • BREAKFAST CLUB

    Attendees may enjoy breakfast Monday to Thursday with their registered Companion Club member by purchasing a “Breakfast Club” pass.  These passes are limited to one per registered companion and are redeemable in the Companion Club only.   Must be purchased at least 24 hours in advance.

    Cost: One Breakfast with your Companion Club member - $25 per person/ $30 per person after the June 26th early deadline
              Breakfast Club – 4 breakfasts (MO – TH) $85 per person/ $100 per person after the June 26th early deadline

  • COMPANION TOURS

    Special tours have been arranged by the Symposium Committee for our Companions.  Registered Technical Attendees and Exhibitors are also welcome to join any tour.  For more tour details, click HERE.  

  • YOUTH TECHNICAL PROGRAM

    Open to Jr. companions and guests aged 8-19.  Younger children are welcome if accompanied by an adult or older, responsible sibling.  Register early to be guaranteed a project kit.

IMPORTANT REGISTRATION INFORMATION


  • AUTHORS

    Symposium registration (IEEE Member or Non-Member) is required by at least one author, or the speaker, before the final paper submission deadline, May 19, 2023.  Failing to meet this requirement will result in the paper not being published or presented – no exceptions.  Your registration confirmation number will be needed for the final paper submittal.  More details can be found on the  AUTHOR/SPEAKER page.

  • CERTIFICATE OF PARTICIPATION

    A Certificate of Participation may be used to officially document attendance at the Symposium.  A personalized certificate will be available at no charge to all registered Symposium attendees and participants.  Please visit the Registration Desk to verify your name and affiliation and to pick up your certificate.  If you have any questions, please email:  emc@iplanitmeetings.com.

  • PAYMENT

    Payment is due upon submittal of your registration.  Payment can be made by:

    • Credit Card: Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover Card.
    • Check (in USD) made out to IEEE EMC+SIPI 2023, and mailed within 2 weeks.
    • Wire Transfer. (Note: Banks usually charge a fee for wire transfers.  These are the responsibility of the registrant.)
    • Invoice (Government Purchase Order)

     

    Payments by credit card will be charged immediately upon submission of registration.  Checks and Wire Transfers must be received within two weeks of the registration date.

    You may pay for Companion Club Registration along with your own registration, or via a separate credit card.  If you need to pay for tours and social events separately, select "Check" as your payment method and then contact Registration Services at the number on your email confirmation. 

  • CANCELLATION POLICY

    For Registration and Total Order

    • Notice of cancellation must be received in writing via email, sent to emc@iplanitmeetings.com.  A $50.00 (USD) processing fee will be charged for registrations cancelled by June 20, 2023.  For cancellations between June 20 and July 10, 2023, a 50% refund will be given.  There will be no refunds after midnight PDT on July 10, 2023.
    • If you applied for a Visa and it is denied, a full refund will be issued less a $20 service charge. 
    • In the event of a full cancellation of the conference, IEEE and EMC Society are not responsible for, and will not reimburse, flight costs and other expenses incurred by the attendee.

     

    For Social Events, Tours and Extras only

    • Notice of cancellation of an individual “extra” item must be received in writing via email, sent to emc@iplanitmeetings.com, by June 26, 2023.  There will be no refunds after midnight PDT on June 27, 2023. 
    • The EMC 2023 Symposium Committee reserves the right to cancel any tour that does not meet the minimum requirement.  If a tour is cancelled, you will receive a full refund and will be contacted prior to the symposium.
